Our Story

Sound familiar?

It was May 2023: my daughter’s first schooling show. We had spent the previous night prepping with military precision, yet by 9:00 AM, the car was already a disaster zone. A saddle was slumped on its side, brushes were migrating across the trunk, and a show bow had disappeared into the abyss of the car, never to be seen again.

As we lugged gear back and forth to the tack-up area, the chaos peaked. There was my husband, precariously balanced under a mountain of tack while leading a pony he didn't particularly like. The pony, sensing his skepticism, promptly bit him. The day hadn't even started and the struggle was very, very real.

  • We weren't alone

Glancing at other families from our barn, we realized we weren't the only ones in the trenches. Everywhere we looked, fellow riders were wrestling with folding saddle stands, overflowing plastic bins, and a small army of reusable shopping bags. We were all fighting the same battle against disorganization—and we had all definitely forgotten at least one essential item at home.

  • An idea sparked!

The "Aha!" moment came shortly after that weekend when a tradesperson arrived at my house. He rolled in with a modular, wheeled toolkit—everything he needed was snapped into place, organized, and effortless. It was a lightbulb moment. I went online to buy the equestrian equivalent, but to my surprise, it didn't exist. There was only one thing to do.

  • Prototypes

If I couldn’t buy it, I’d have to build it. After teaching myself CAD design, and 3D printing components at the local library, my "tack porter" vision finally came to life. To ensure it was ready for the barn and beyond, I stress-tested it through my muddy backyard and sharp turns in the back of my car —making sure every piece of gear stayed perfectly in place.

Introducing the Rova Tack Porter—a patent-pending, completely modular tack room on wheels.

After finalizing the design and submitting a patent application, the real testing began, and one thing became crystal clear: this wasn’t just for horse shows. It became the ultimate equestrian companion for everyday schooling. I’d wheel into the barn only the components I needed, sit on the Rova to put on my half chaps, and keep it in my car to lock everything in place. To my surprise, it even managed to contain that "signature" barn smell, making it as much a win for my trunk as it is for the stable.
